General Recovery
The roadside breakdown service, known as Breakdown Doctor, is the backbone of the recovery business. This is operated by six highly skilled and committed staff. Their ability to repair and remobilise a broken down car is legendary, using a fully equiped roadside service vehicle with spec-lift and which can also be used as a short range recovery vehicle. A Breakdown Doctor can even return to the workshop and continue with jobs that have proved too difficult at the roadside, subject to customer approval, an example of which is draining the fuel system after a mis-fueling (e.g. filling a diesel car with petrol).
When a vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside or the customer wishes to be directly recovered, we are able to call on a number of fully equiped PAS 43 accredited vehicles starting with our crew-cab transporter which can handle a light commercial vehicle or 4x4 and up to six passengers.
If the vehicle is unaccompanied or there are less than three passengers, a vehicle can be selected which will take a larger load and two passengers to their destination. Often the chosen option will be a people carrying vehicle and a Brian James auto trailer. These vehicles provides enhanced travelling conditions including air conditioning, aswell as a spacious enviroment.
Normally, size, condition and transmission of the disabled vehicle permitting, the the Breakdown Doctor will load the casualty directly on to his spectacle lift together with the ability to accomodate up to six people and recover to the repairer.
